Getting Started

This plugin requires Grunt ~0.4.2

If you haven't used Grunt before, be sure to check out the Getting Started guide, as it explains how to create a Gruntfile as well as install and use Grunt plugins. Once you're familiar with that process, you may install this plugin with this command:

npm install grunt-minor-major-milestone --save-dev

Once the plugin has been installed, it may be enabled inside your Gruntfile with this line of JavaScript:

grunt.loadNpmTasks('grunt-minor-major-milestone');

The "minor-major-milestone" task

Overview

In your project's Gruntfile, add a section named grunt-minor-major-milestone to the data object passed into grunt.initConfig().

grunt.initConfig({
  'minor-major-milestone': {
    options: {
        elem: 'milestone'
    }
  }
});

Options

options.elem

Type: String Default value: 'minor'

A string value that is used to bump the version use: 'minor' || 'major' || 'milestone' || 'reset'.

options.file

Type: String Default value: 'package.json'

Usage

Create a task for every version increase

'minor-major-milestone': {
  minor: {
    options: { elem: 'minor' }
  },
  major: {
    options: { elem: 'major' }
  },
  milestone: {
    options: { elem: 'milestone' }
  },
  reset: {
   options: { elem: 'reset' }

grunt resetResets the version to 0.0.17.14.0 -> 0.0.1

Contributing

In lieu of a formal styleguide, take care to maintain the existing coding style. Add unit tests for any new or changed functionality. Lint and test your code using Grunt.
